A sea of blue and a thousand cheering fans greeted the arrival of Sam to Grove Road today. A real Ollies welcome was laid on for Sam and Dublin Team member Jack McCaffrey with Eimear Costello, our GAA coach Panner and of course our own real dub, Niamh McEvoy. “It should have been us”, said Niamh as she introduced Sam to the cheering masses. Jack and Sam were dragged hither and thither as everyone tried to get their picture with Sam. Many parents and younger siblings turned up for the event which was all too quickly over. It was a case of history repeating itself as Jack’s father was part of the team who brought Sam to visit the school back in the early 80’s.
Our picture shows the three youngest pupils in the school – Aoibhin Morton, Lola Smith and Conor Grace with their hero, Jack McCafferey.
