This is All-Ireland Week and tomorrow Friday our school is having a ‘blue’ day in support of Dublin’s senior footballers taking part in the All Ireland Football final VS Mayo on Sunday in Croke Park. This Sundays game promises to be a great contest. Can Dublin win three in a row?
We are all going to try and wear the colour blue on Friday all around the school to create a sea of support to our counties football team.
From all of us in Ollies:
Our book week in the school was a huge success.
Lots of fun activities, authors, plays and especially lots of reading. We all had a lovely time and it has made us want to read more as a hobby, for fun and when we want to relax.
Here are some photos from the day we dressed up as characters from our favorite books.
There is a great sense of excitement in the school this week as we celebrate Book Week.
We are busy up here diving into all of our favourite books and discovering some we didn’t know existed!
There are activities all week long for all classes and age groups…. Readathons, Books Swaps, Author visits, Door decoration, Poster design, book ‘tasting’, Whole school DEAR (drop everything and read) time, library trips, group drama, book conversation circles, 3D displays,Book Week Table Quiz Pop up shops, dress up day and more!
Come take a look!
It was Lá Glas today in our school to end what has been an incredible Seachtain na Gaeilge. We had a big Céili in the hall with all the classes and some our students who actually do Irish dancing were able to treat us to some performances. It was great seeing all the students and teachers dressed in green and we wish everybody a Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
