It was Lá Glas today in our school to end what has been an incredible Seachtain na Gaeilge. We had a big Céili in the hall with all the classes and some our students who actually do Irish dancing were able to treat us to some performances. It was great seeing all the students and teachers dressed in green and we wish everybody a Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Seachtain na Gaeilge is continuing to be a huge success in our school ending this St. Patrick’s day. It has been a great week so far with the children (and parents) 
putting all of their frásaí into practice. It is wonderful to see the Irish language alive and well in St. Oliver Plunkett School. We are having quizzes, treasure hunts, PE lessons, art classes, concerts,fashion shows, circle times, plays and lots more all trí gaeilge. Thank you to all the mams and dads for all your support and encouragement.

There is great excitement in the school today as the Lego exhibition has finally arrived. All of the children in the school have been invited to ‘display/present’ their Lego in our school hall.
All classes will get to visit the exhibition today with the inventors exhibiting their work and answering all questions. It is great to see the wonderfully industrious boys and girls from Ollies bring’ Lego to a new dimension’.
Every class in the school has representatives who have worked tirelessly in order to make this day happen. It is is Lego creativity at its best and there is great ‘pride’ on Grove road this morning.
A big thanks to the student council who are collecting, managing and organising the event. Well done to all on the ‘Lego team’!
We had a great day in our school on Tuesday with the annual ‘Bunanza’.
This is a great fundraising event for the school and without doubt an annual highlight for all of the children. Without the hugely generous support from the parent body this really couldn’t happen, so we want to thank everyone for baking cakes, muffins, biscuits, apple tarts, fairy cakes, tray bakes, rice krispie cakes etc. in order for us to make this the best Bunanza to date.

“It’s pretty simple – to celebrate 10 years of Operation Transformation they wanted every primary school in Ireland to take 10 minutes of exercise this morning at 10 am.
We had great fun all around the school today in Ollies doing our exercises and dances.
